Talk is Cheap

There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions. I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king, "The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him." So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer. (Ezra 8:21-23 NIV)

What an awesome scripture, the statement “I was ashamed to ask the King for soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king that the gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him” For me it says it all, TALK IS CHEAP!, after making a boast in your God, when push now comes to shove what do you do? We can say it, claim it, boast about it, but if we cant line all our talk with corresponding actions, then nothing much comes out of all our talking and claiming.

Right now, more than ever before I am putting action to talk! , searching deep within me to be honest to “self”, if I say the Lord is my Light and my salvation whom shall I fear? Then I should act like one who is truly not afraid, but confident in my Proclamations.

I know that even in this day and time with the economic down turn, the harsh and seemingly unfavorable environment and times we find our selves, I can say for me, my case is different, I can say despite the cry in the city that there’s a casting down, I still shout that there is a lifting up.Not because of who I am, but who’s I AM.

Its A Matter of Cash

On the 20th of Jan 2009, i watched on as million and millions of Americans all celebrated one thing HOPE!, and change that lies in horizon, and from my room I wondered will our home land Nigeria ever have something to celebrate about, even if its just change, a change in the right direction. Below is an article written in response to CNN's NIGER DELTA, Planet in Peril,  by a friend of mine,  Comfort Olubo Umaru  a lawyer based in Abuja Nigeria. IT’S A MATTER OF CASH. by  Comfort Olubo Umaru As an avid reader, a former resident of the area and concerned citizen, it would be remiss of me not to start any discussion on the Nigerian Niger Delta with one name. Kenule Saro Wiwa. As a child my favorite TV show was Bassey and Co. This was a screen adaptation of plays written by Ken Saro Wiwa. It was about a wise cracking young man called Bassey and his friend Alale and their varied antics. The show was all about their varied attempts to ev...

2023 into 2024 God's Goodness

2023 it is ending and Thank God, it's NOT the End. Am grateful for the year, goods immeasurable grace and mercies on me. Am trying to reminisce 2023 in my mind's eye as far back as I can possibly remember.  I started the year slowly focused and knowing the things I needed to get done at least for the first quarter. In hindsight now I can say it all worked out really well, at least until it all went crazy.  The national elections came, and I fought, I voted and hoped for a better government to take over at the national level, yet it was stolen right before our very eyes both at the state and national levels.  On a very deep level this crushed hope, that flicker of hope that Nigeria as a country would turn a corner for good this time. Unfortunately not only that the elections was  stolen but it was done in the most brazen, crude and evil manner.  Every institution of state was and is now captured by a thieving political establishment.  It's taken some time bu...
