The poor amongest you.

I vividly remember always being eager to watch on cable Tv, way back in 93, Robin Leach - show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" it was a relish to hear his unique voice profiling well-known celebrities and watching on screen their lavish homes, cars and other materialistic indulgence - the show was so famous one of hiphop greatest artists of all time wrote this lyric "I made the change from a common thief
to up close and personal with Robin Leach and I'm far from cheap". At the end of the show, I remember me silently joining in on Robin Leach signature phrase, "champagne wishes and caviar dreams."  probably hoping that would make me rich someday.

That was then, and now today going back home from work, it struck me, I might not be watching a show on Tv but nonetheless everyday in these parts I see more of the flipside of Robin Leach show, and it's called " Life Styles of The Poor and Unfortunate" Indeed it is written "the poor you will always have with you" and thus  "you shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land." I guess you really don't need a show on Tv for a peek at being poor.

#tgif #reflections on , helping the poor- what is being poor, is it : just a lack of money, a state of mind, lack of opportunities, misuse of opportunities and chances, able but lazy, self inflicted, system inflicted, a disease or is it just plain destiny, cause life happens .?

It's the 31st of December 2022 and in the last 16years, every last day of the year I have maintained this tradition of documenting my general thoughts, for the year ending and my hopes and outlooks for the incoming year. I believe that in going forward, it does demands a good reflection backwards also, like the famous quote from the late Steve Jobs of Apple    “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future"   The interesting thing that life and faith in God has taught me is that this " SOMEHOW" is not a thing of chance or luck.  It's simple God's hand at work.  Every steps he has ordered, even when I take them without k

The back story to the success,we never knew - we just saw the fame and fortune and tried to identify with that. Decades later we get the opportunity to hear the back story, the work, the walk, the raise & falls of stardom. The journey for most is crazy. So many fell off, some lost it completely, some made it then eventually los
