The Job Hunting System

We ask our self the question, why do we go through this? Why dose the job hunting system and virtually all company in this country put us through all this? The path is the same for most people; we face the same obstacles, make the same mistakes and face rejection after rejection on our applications.

Only a hand full won’t go through the usual stress of securing a good job.So lets look at it, is it the economy downturn that’s the problem? in this case the answer is No!, on the contrary there are indices showing our economy is growing, hence there are more jobs being created. It’s the “system” our system is such that we are absolutely tossed out of school to national services, to eventually become unemployed.

We kick against the dust, and throw punches at the wind ,trying to secure a Good job fast, when that seems not to come, we settle for just any thing and even that still is not forth coming.Gradually, only gradually we begin to learn what the rules of this “system” are, what are these rules concerning the world of work?

2023 into 2024 God's Goodness

2023 it is ending and Thank God, it's NOT the End. Am grateful for the year, goods immeasurable grace and mercies on me. Am trying to reminisce 2023 in my mind's eye as far back as I can possibly remember.  I started the year slowly focused and knowing the things I needed to get done at least for the first quarter. Unfortunately not only that the elections was  stolen but it was done in the most brazen, crude and evil manner.  Every institution of state was and is now captured by a thieving political establishment.  It's taken some time bu...

Grateful Reflections

( With Dr Bola Afolabi, Current CIPS President) On the 28 February 2006, I started a tread called Logistics/Supply Chain Management on one of the most popular webforum in Nigeria called Nairaland. Follow link to view postings on this tread http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-7497.0.html My aim basically was to use the opportunity an online forum can offer, to interact, share and gain ideas, information, network and generally increase awareness of the Procurement, Logistics and Supply chain management profession. This act of sharing my passion for the profession online has over the years sparked off series of positive and constructive events in my career quest, some of which I have reflected upon in the text below. Although my initial undergraduate study and immediate post study working experience were all related to engineering, I soon fall in love with the logistics and SCM profession when in March of 2005 I gained my 1st substantive Job with Integrated Logistics services Nig...
