Lagos, commercial capital city of Nigeria with its over 15million population is buckling  under its own weight. Nigeria with about 7 costal states, and 3 of them apart from Lagos have sea ports. Yet virtually all imports and Nigeria's miniscule exports has to come in and go out the ports in Apapa Lagos. What I call typical Nigerian MOP . Simple solution, you would think is get the two ports in Delta state working,  these are (the Warri Port and Koko Port,)   and also get the three Ports in Rivers state, these are (federal lighter terminal FLT Onne port , federal ocean terminal FOT Onne port, and the Port Harcourt sea Port) all working full throttle including maximizing the use and gains of the Onne Free Trade Zone, and yet still ensure the Calabar Port in Cross Rivers state, comes back into full time operations. The decision to be on social media e.g Instagram, facebook, twitter, etc for most is a personal one, in most cases you did it cause you wanted to not because anyone asked you to. I like to capture the moment,random stuff that interests me from time to time and I mostly do this using the camera or sound recorder on that one device that as a result in advances in technology and human commercials enterprise has been foisted on me and has almost become inseparable  (my phone, smart phone ) Besides its use for making calls, and the 1001 apps on a smartphone,the selfie culture and the argument this culture has brought about if selfies is a narcissistic behavior. Uber driver doing about 70 /80km/hr, on beautiful stretch of the Abuja airport road,the capital city of Nigeria, without any timely warning this bike man (motorcycle rider)  cuts from left to right,on a major highway with loads of cars zooming past on top speed.  We held our breath, driver slightly slowed and veered  left - it was a near miss, a very, very near miss in inches.  The driver's good reflexes and driving skill helped and he avoided running the bike man and his passenger over. It's not visible on the slow-motion part of this cam video, but I could see  how "wild with fear"  the passengers was as she turned around to see if this was probably her last moment. So it’s finally here the last day of 2017 and am still here,am still standing but by the grace of God.  It’s hard to believe that 2017 wizzed by so fast and today its coming to an end.I can still vividly remember doing my last post for the previous year (2016)whilst on the road traveling back to London from margate Kent with family members in the United Kingdom. Reminiscing Tuesday : :Seeing pictures of the crowd welcoming Mr. President (President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerias president) in the city of Kano;northern Nigeria earlier on in the week. It made me remember my experiences of how I welcomed two former Nigeria Presidents. This year, I invested in a multi room-portable speaker with bluetooth connectivity and internet radio access. It's been a long time coming, I have wanted one for a long time now. I had to save and wait for the right time to make this purchase as I had to get a premium brand (Bose Speakers) and they don't come cheap. Why would I wait this long to get a speaker and then talk about it online?  You see am very particular about my mornings, especially my waking moments and the first few hours of each day. We leave in a part of the world where if you are not deliberate about certain or infact most things for example how your day begins, then you just keep going through the motions, typical for folks living in a densely populated city. I vividly remember always being eager to watch on cable Tv, way back in 93, Robin Leach - show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" it was a relish to hear his unique voice profiling well-known celebrities and watching on screen their lavish homes, cars and other materialistic indulgence - the show was so famous one of hiphop greatest artists of all time wrote this lyric "I made the change from a common thief to up close and personal with Robin Leach and I'm far from cheap". Over a year ago I stopped my subscription to Dstv a local satellite Tv  entertainment provider and never watched them again since then, the axe I was grinding was that ,they are monopolistic, rigid with their product offerings & in my opinion overpriced. I had settled for what I considered a much cheaper options, via view on demand platforms like,Netflix, & Google movies,theres are not your traditional Tv channel and I believe they have even changed my TV viewing habits for the better. Every now and then I eat out,but I always say "nothing  as good as a home cooked meal",and today with the wife out of town I told me -"no eat out"so despite the rains this evening on my way home from work I braved it into a typical "rowdy" port harcourt market, one of the many places I normally wouldn't go, not even if dragged by a leash. After paying £30 for courier delivery services as charged by TLS Nigeria (visa center) to return documentation of family members who had applied for visas.
